The 1981–82 Philadelphia Flyers season was the Flyers' 15th season in the National Hockey League (NHL).

In 1981–82, Mel Bridgman was growing unhappy with the Flyers' organization, and was replaced as captain by Bill Barber before being traded to Calgary for defenseman Brad Marsh. With the Flyers playing listlessly and their season on the brink of disaster, head coach Pat Quinn was fired and replaced by Bob McCammon midway through the year. Darryl Sittler was acquired in January from Toronto. After a third-place finish the Flyers lost in four games to the Rangers in the first round of the playoffs. For the first time in nine years they failed to make it past the first round.
